Today I’m going to talk about a method that I’ve been using personally for the last 2-3 weeks to make around $500 in pure profit by entering contests offline.

Offline business tends to be more lucrative than online business… so when you combine the two, you can make some easy profit. I’m specifically talking about offline contests.

The thing about offline contests is that they tend to pay a lot more than online contests – the people running them usually aren’t aware of where to go on the Internet to get top quality designs, and so prizes can range in the hundred dollar to thousand dollar range.

Online, you can run a contest on one of the webmaster forums and get a few dozen, high quality designs put up for less than $100.

Last week, I entered a logo design contest. Despite the fact that I cannot design logos. The prize money was around $900.

I setup a thread on a webmaster site asking for logo designs, and letting people know that if their design was chosen, I’d pay them $100, with the contest running a week (both offline and online). With this I managed to get twenty three high quality designs submitted, and all of them were sent in.

I won the contest. End result? $900 won, $100 spent, $800 profit for no work on my part – all I did was start the thread!

Another contest I’ve entered is the local newspaper competition.

Basically all you have to do is send in a picture weekly, with a cash prize of around $300 given away. Note that this does not have to be a picture taken by you.

I’ve bought pictures from iStockPhoto for $1 and sent them in. Have won twice in the last three weeks. If you can do math, the profit margin on that is pretty extensive.

How do you find these contests? The best places to look are newspapers, and then if you cannot find anything magazines. If your city is big enough, there will usually be something happening.

A simple way to make money, one that anyone can do. Try it out and you’ll be surprised!
