Yesterday I saw more than 150 uniques, which is 100+ more than this blog normally gets.

This is mainly because of forum marketing.

By starting a thread, posting a few times in the relevant sections and changing a signature link, I saw 100 extra visitors for around ten minutes of work.

Isn’t that great?

The great thing is that you can see thousands of visitors a month just from forums. There are forums for any thing you can think of - blogging, marketing, making money online, search engine optimization… name it and there will be people discussing it.

For example, two great ones for bloggers and webmasters are Blog Premiere and Digital Point. The former is small, but has a tight knit community; the latter has people for almost every type of thing you can imagine (and more than that!)

Both allow you to showcase your latest blog post and both allow signatures. So write catchy titles and make a few dozen posts a day and you’ll get visitors.

Of course, your content needs to be good for them to stay, but if it’s even half alright you’ll get visitors and subscribers.

You could always run a contest with a cool cash prize - people love those. Especially if you make it easy to enter. For example, subscribe to my feed to win $xxx…
