Sorry for not posting, guys. I am getting a new premium theme (just not sure which one to use… I might buy Brian Gardner’s. Anyone know a good, unused much premium theme out there) and one of those cool mascots that you see everywhere.

I am also going to hire writers for this website, to take some of the effort off me, so that I can concentrate on my other online ventures and you guys can still keep getting content. I know I only have maybe 5-10 readers, but you guys have stuck around and so I would like to give you something to read over during the day, so I will be screening all writers for high quality.

A cool theme I found for Wordpress recently is the Passion Duo Wordpress theme however the problem is that it is too good so lots of people are using it. Below is a screenshot, you may use it if you like it - it serves a purpose to make new blogger’s blogs look good.

What do you think? To thank everyone that reads this blog, I will have six ad places when I get the new theme, and anyone that comments on this post (six maximum) will get one for a month, free. First person gets it for two months!

I promised I’d update regularly on May 24th. That’s almost one week, and I haven’t stayed true to my word. To be fair, I’ve been busy with things… most notably working on my niche websites as well as forum posting to make money.

The problem with running so many sites is that you can often be left bereft of ideas, or without content… since most, especially blogs need to be updated regularly what do you need to do?

1) Hire people

Outsource. This is what I do for some of my niche websites and it means that although I have to pay some money, I save a lot of time. Make sure you find a writer you can trust.

2) Change your post schedule

I want to post once daily on this blog, but what if I was posting once weekly? You guys wouldn’t have a problem at all, if I had started and posted once a week since the beginning of this blog. However, remember that if you really want to do well in the search engines and whatnot the best action plan is one a day (or even more)

3) Pull your finger out

I was busy, but the only reason I didn’t update Da Blogger was because I was lazy. If I pulled the finger out, you’d have had 6 more posts from me.

I will be changing my theme soon and probably getting a custom header done (as is the craze in the blogosphere). Subscribe if you haven’t

Everyone wants to make money online… that is the ultimate dream, being able to work from home. A lot of ways to make money online involve start up capital though – what if you don’t have the money to invest?

That’s the problem faced by many, and most people need ways to start off making money without having to spend a dime. Some of these will only provide short term income, some can be developed into a sustainable long term business model – here’s three ways to make money online free.

1) Surveys

Thousands of work at home moms are making a good amount of money from their home computers filling in surveys for companies online – advertisers want to know what consumers want and they’re willing to pay for it.

All that’s needed to make money answering surveys is a keyboard – most survey companies have restrictions (country wise for example) so the best opportunities will likely be available only in the USA. If you can get sorted though, doing surveys is an easy way to bring in a few hundred dollars monthly.

The dangerous thing about surveys is that there are a lot of unscrupulous companies out there – make sure you do your research through a Google search to see if people have been paid out.

Choosing a survey company that is well established and with good payment terms is a great (and fun) way to make money online.

2) Freelancing

If you can write, design or code , you can make money online freelancing.

Freelancing is a multi-million dollar business nowadays, with more and more companies wanting jobs done but unable to do it themselves. One of the most common freelancing jobs is writing, where you can be paid to create articles, stories and sometimes even novels.

As long as you proofread your work for spelling and grammatical mistakes, writing should be easy if you have the talent for it. Again, be wary and take some percentage of payment before you start work to avoid being ripped off.

You may need to work cheaper at the beginning to build up a portfolio and some reputation, but once you do so do not be scared to raise your rates. You can find writing jobs at various forums and job boards.

3) Selling items

Websites like eBay mean that you can take stuff you don’t need anymore and sell them for a nice profit.

One man’s junk is another man’s treasure (or so they say) and that piece of jewellery sitting in the back of your cupboard that you don’t use anymore could be worth hundreds of dollars to the right person.

Auction websites allow you to list your old, not needed items for sale and make money – some require a listing fee but with most you only pay if you manage to sell the item.

Most auction websites have protection to deal with fake bidders or scammers, but make sure you only deal with people in the same country as you if possible, or people in registered countries like the USA, Canada and Australia.

The three ways above can be done by anyone and the best thing is that you don’t need any money to start up. You can start making money just minutes from now – so start looking and good luck!

Bloggeries is a place I’ve been hanging around over the last few days… not a member yet, but it’s a pretty cool website. You get to see the normal bloggers interact with each other and there is a lot of good information out there, whether you’re new or old.

The one thing I’d say the place is lacking is some of the ’star’ bloggers, although I suppose they’ll get them as they grow… they recently passed 20,000 posts which is a phenomenal milestone, and more and more join everyday.

The guy that runs the place, Rob, seems friendly enough and from what I’ve heard is always willing to sponsor reviews for blog contests; I’ll be asking him for one when this place gets a little bigger. Just letting people know, as some may not have heard of it - if you want to talk about blogging, or just browse (like me), go over now and have a read as it’s a cool place.

The best part of the arena is the section about making money from blogging as there are a lot of tips for newbies, and best of all the advice is all free - fairly useful for both new and older bloggers

Those statistics were taken from the sales page of some internet product… all of them have similar looks, so I can’t remember which, but anyways, the hype has gotten me quite a few click throughs.

You know the saying ‘Sex Sells’ ? Well, so does money. Why do you think people keep going back to Shoemoney, or John Chow? For the former, that 132k cheque keeps on bringing visitors, while for the latter, blog revenues of $30,000 a month make readers drawn to the content like flies, even though a lot of it isn’t very useful.

What is your Entrecard banner, or just the 125 x 125 you normally use if you’re not on Entrecard look like? Is it simply your website name, or does it have more flash involved with it? I’d be interested in knowing your statistics.

Speaking of which, I should probably get that changed. Anyone know a decent designer, one that does graphics for cheap? Just let me know.

First off, let me say I have nothing wrong with long, useful posts. The problem is, most bloggers tend to ramble and ramble, just because they think a post needs to be long - you’re wrong!

Short posts that are to the point are a lot better to middle sized ones that go on for ages but talk about nothing useful. If you want to do a long post, make sure it is all focused on one topic, and one that people will not just link to, but also keep coming back to check out, because the post is useful.

Note, I’m not advocating posts that are three lines long, but they don’t need to be more than a few paragraphs in some cases.. the more you drone, the less your readers pay attention.

See, this post for example. Over before you even knew it, but hopefully offered you something to thing about. Think of yourself - would you read a blog post that was long, especially when you have other blogs to read and work to do? I wouldn’t, or at best I’d skim through it, unless it offered something extremely useful.

So keep them short, before you send your readers to sleep like Garfield above!

Sorry guys.

Timestamping posts to go live is a great thing you can do for a blog, especially if you get hit with a sudden crazy for writing - write 3-5 posts, timestamp them to go live over the next few days and there you go, you’ve got free time to relax. Of course, I didn’t relax - I concentrated on promoting this blog. Due to me having little free time, I put in five posts on the weekend and used the half hour I’d normally spend writing on promoting this blog - nothing major, just signing up for Entrecard, emailing a few bloggers, searching for forums.

That promotion will not show up instantly, but for now… I’m building relationships, ones that will come in use later.

How to timestamp? Just write a post normally, then go to the bar on the right that says ‘Post Timestamp’ - you can see an example on the left.

You can do this as many times as you like, and it’s easy to set many posts to go live, before you go on holiday for example. It’s pretty easy to do, as anyone with Wordpress should be able to find it - if you need help, drop me an email.

Good luck with timestamping your posts - if you get in a lot of them during time that you have open, you won’t have to worry about your blog on days that you can’t get to the Internet (having lots of work for example). If you need any help, let me know!

SiteFever.com - $1,500
RyanShamus.com - $2,500
SEONoobs.com $4,500
BloggingFingers.com - $6,000
OneMansGoal.com - $8,600
BlogohBlog.com - $10,000
Cashquests.com - $15,000

To me, blogs are useless without the person running them, but what do I know. According to a long ago study by 45n5, each subscriber is worth $30… I swear, I’ll get this blog to around 40 subscribers and if anyone would like to purchase it from me for $1,200 there, feel free to do so

What do you think - are they worth a lot, or is it just a passing fad?
